The Baheya Foundation has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to develop innovative technological solutions using artificial intelligence technology to improve early breast cancer detection through radiology.

The signing of the cooperation agreement was attended by Dr. Noha Adly, Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Research and Development, Engineer Jilan Falafela, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Baheya Foundation and Head of the Innovation and Technology Committee, and Dr. Ahmed Tantawi, Supervisor of the Applied Innovation Center.

This agreement aims to develop new technological solutions that can be used to improve the accuracy and speed of breast cancer detection by using artificial intelligence technology to analyze radiology images and identify any early signs of the disease.

This agreement is an important step in the development of innovative technological solutions for early breast cancer detection. The Baheya Foundation is considered one of the leading institutions in this field in Egypt.

In this regard, Engineer Jilan Falafela, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Baheya Foundation and Head of the Innovation and Technology Committee, expressed gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, for providing the opportunity to establish a cooperation protocol that keeps pace with global development and serves all women in Egypt by using artificial intelligence for early breast cancer detection through radiology.

Falafela added on the sidelines of the cooperation protocol signing, "This step will significantly contribute to reducing the time and cost of screening, thereby allowing a larger number of women to be examined." She noted that the cooperation protocol comes in conjunction with the opening of the first phase of the Baheya Sheikh Zayed Hospital last March, which includes 5 early detection units capable of screening 400 women daily when fully operational.

Dr. Ahmed Tantawi, Supervisor of the Applied Innovation Center, stated that the center aims to use the latest communications and information technology to innovate world-class practical solutions that help address challenges faced by various sectors in the country and contribute to driving growth and prosperity.
