Baheya group hospitals organized its fifth medical conference under the title "Recent Developments in Breast Cancer Treatment," to discuss the latest advancements in breast cancer treatment and oncology. The conference took place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and included discussion sessions and training workshops on the latest therapeutic developments in breast cancer treatment.
Dr. Amany Hilal, Professor of Oncology at the National Cancer Institute, conference chair, and Head of the Oncology Department at Baheya Hospital, stated that the aim of the fifth annual conference of Baheya Center, held under the title "Recent Developments in Breast Cancer Treatment," over two days, was to exchange expertise among doctors and specialists in this field and to present the latest methods of treatment and diagnosis to keep pace with scientific developments and enhance the knowledge of all members of the medical team. This contributes to improving the quality of services provided to Egyptian patients.
She explained that the conference included many experts and specialists from Egypt and abroad in oncology, diagnostic radiology, physical therapy, and nursing. It also featured presentations on the latest treatment methods using artificial intelligence and tumor diagnosis.
Dr. Hilal added that breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths, noting that the conference reviewed the latest in cancer treatment, whether surgical, targeted, or immunotherapy, emphasizing that every day brings new advancements that improve patients' chances of recovery.
She highlighted Baheya Center's focus on psychological support for survivors through qualified individuals to help patients, along with a psychiatric department for those who cannot face the crisis psychologically.
