In a significant step towards advancing cancer care, Baheya Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the early detection and treatment of breast cancer in Egypt, has signed a cooperation agreement with AstraZeneca, a global pharmaceutical company. This partnership will establish a twinning initiative with MD Anderson Cancer Center, a leading oncology center in Spain, to foster knowledge exchange and implement cutting-edge treatment approaches for cancer patients.

The agreement entails a series of multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings between the medical teams of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Spain and Baheya Foundation. The first meeting, held in mid-August, brought together 15 physicians from various specialties at Baheya, including surgery, diagnostic and therapeutic radiology, oncology, and pathology. These meetings aim to facilitate the exchange of expertise, provide insights into the latest global treatment protocols and recommendations, and enable the development of comprehensive treatment plans that combine different therapeutic approaches, maximizing patient outcomes.

This collaboration aligns with the Baheya Foundation's unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality medical care for breast cancer patients and leveraging the latest advancements in global medical practices. By partnering with MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Baheya Foundation seeks to expand its knowledge base, adopt innovative treatment strategies, and ultimately improve the lives of cancer patients in Egypt.
