Hassan Ghanem, CEO of the Housing and Development Bank, and Tamer Shawky, Chairman of the Board of Baheya Foundation, have signed a cooperation protocol between the two institutions to establish and operate the "first two operating room wings" at Baheya Hospital in Sheikh Zayed City.
The cooperation protocol aims to ensure that breast cancer surgeries are performed within Baheya Hospital instead of external hospitals, directly and effectively facilitating the treatment of more than 3,500 cases annually. This contributes to providing comprehensive healthcare services by the highest standards of efficiency and quality.
Hassan Ghanem, CEO of the Housing and Development Bank, expressed his pride in collaborating with the Baheya Foundation, noting that it is one of the pioneering institutions offering a comprehensive range of medical and humanitarian services for breast cancer fighters. Ghanem highlighted that the opening of the "first operating room wing" at Baheya Hospital aligns with the bank's belief in the importance of supporting the healthcare sector, which is a top priority in the bank's social responsibility strategy to achieve comprehensive development across all aspects and sectors.
The bank's Vice President emphasized the bank's commitment to continuing to support women's empowerment plans, recognizing their crucial and effective role in community building and development, in line with the state's vision and the central bank's goals for sustainable development.
Dr. Geilan Ahmed, Executive Director of Baheya Foundation, stated that the Housing and Development Bank's contribution to the Baheya Sheikh Zayed Hospital project stems from their belief in the importance of community services. She thanked the hospital for choosing Baheya for their commitment to women's health in Egypt and their belief in the significant role the hospital plays for all Egyptian women.
Dr. Ahmed also noted that Baheya's role extends beyond treating breast cancer to include continuous awareness about the importance of early detection, as well as providing psychological and emotional support and empowering women fighting breast cancer.
