The Baheya Center for Early Detection and Free Treatment of Breast Cancer organized its fourth annual medical conference titled "The Latest Medical Treatments in Breast Cancer and Future Developments" to discuss the latest scientific and global advancements in the treatment of breast cancer.
The conference is held annually and includes fruitful discussion sessions and training workshops to explore the latest global and scientific developments in breast cancer, a specialty that Baheya Foundation has excelled in since its inception.
Dr. Ahmed Darwish, former Minister of Administrative Development, emphasized the importance of Baheya Hospital during his participation in the recognition ceremony. He highlighted that the hospital aims to treat thousands of breast cancer fighters for free, and that this medical establishment was built with love, dedication, and commitment.
Eng. Tamer Shawky, Chairman of Baheya’s Board of Trustees, stated that this year's conference serves as a clarification and demonstration to all those interested in the medical field about the high rates of early detection and treatment of breast cancer among women that Baheya has achieved.
He added that Baheya Zayed Hospital, which is expected to be completed in 2023, will provide a significant opportunity to accommodate a larger number of fighters and reassure thousands of women.
Dr. Mohamed Amara, CEO of Baheya Hospitals Group, mentioned that this year's Baheya conference saw great success, with extensive participation from within and outside Egypt.
He added that in six years, Baheya has achieved the dream of early detection and free treatment of breast cancer through the efforts of our doctors, scientific research, and staying updated with the latest scientific developments in medication, diagnosis, and treatment. With what we have accomplished, we are ready to reach a global level.
Dr. Mohamed Amara emphasized that reassuring every woman about her health means reassuring the sister, daughter, and mother, who are the pillars of society and the foundation of every household.
Dr. Amani Hilal, Head of the Oncology Department at Baheya Center and Conference Chair, stated that breast cancer is the most common type among women, highlighting the importance of early detection, which leads to a 96% cure rate, thereby significantly reducing treatment costs.
She pointed out the significance of this year's medical conference, which includes a group of experts and specialists in oncology, as well as leading Egyptian professors in this field. The conference will feature discussion sessions on the latest advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer over the course of October 14-15.
Dr. Hilal mentioned: "We have tried to include comprehensive sessions during the conference, such as on hereditary breast cancer after observing its increase in younger ages, early detection in its initial stages, new medications, recent discoveries, advanced techniques, and special workshops on clinical pharmacies and surgery."
She added: "All our efforts are focused on early detection and raising awareness about its importance, as it has significantly developed. Our goal is to achieve a cure rate that approaches the global recovery rates from breast cancer."
Dr. Geilan Ahmed, Executive Director of Baheya Foundation, stated: "Choosing this timing to hold the fourth annual medical conference for Baheya Center coincides appropriately with Pink October, the breast cancer awareness month."
Dr. Geilan Ahmed continued: "The dream of Baheya started six years ago, beginning with awareness, education, and training roles. We had to keep pace with the rapid growth of breast cancer and race against time to treat all women in Egypt."
Baheya Center consistently strives to enhance the training process, hold conferences, and exchange research to serve the field of oncology and add new developments in this area.
