Baheya Foundation was honored to welcome His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, during a landmark visit accompanied by a distinguished delegation.

His Holiness was received by Mrs. Laila Salem, Member of the Board of Trustees of Baheya Foundation and granddaughter of Mrs. Baheya Wahby; Eng. Hazem El-Leithy and Dr. Mohamed Fahmy, Members of the Board of Trustees; Mrs. Sherine Helal, Member of the Board of Directors; Ambassador Nabila Makram, Executive Director of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work (NACDW); along with members of the hospital's leadership team.

During the visit, His Holiness toured the hospital's various departments and met with members of the medical and administrative teams. He also delivered an inspiring address, praising Baheya's pioneering humanitarian mission in supporting women battling breast cancer and highlighting the hospital's commitment to providing world-class healthcare services with compassion, dignity, and respect.

His Holiness commended the hospital's professionalism and the exceptional standards of care offered to patients, emphasizing that preserving human dignity while delivering medical treatment lies at the heart of Baheya's noble mission.

In his remarks, Pope Tawadros II also underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between Baheya Foundation and the Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical, and Social Services under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work. He noted that such collaboration would help expand community outreach efforts and maximize the positive impact on beneficiaries across Egypt.

His Holiness was accompanied by a high-level delegation that included His Grace Bishop Julius, General Bishop of Old Cairo and Bishop of Public, Ecumenical, and Social Services; Fr. Emmanuel El-Moharraky, Director of the Papal Office; Fr. Raphael Tharwat, Deputy Bishop of Services; Fr. Antonios Sobhy, Program Development Consultant at the Bishopric; Prof. Dr. Ghada Barsoum, Vice-Chair of the Bishopric Council for Services; Dr. Rania Soliman, Health Program Manager at the Bishopric; and Deacon Joseph Reda from the Papal Secretariat.

The visit reflects the growing national recognition of Baheya's vital role in providing comprehensive, free-of-charge breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and support services, while reinforcing the values of solidarity, compassion, and community partnership in advancing healthcare and social development.
